The Whitefish River First Nation, in partnership with the A/OFRC will be conducting a Spring Walleye (Sander vitreus) Index Netting (SWIN) survey at the mouth of the Whitefish River. This survey will commence when the surface water temperature is above 2°C and will continue until the Walleye have completed their spawning run (approx. April to May). The purpose of collecting data on the spawning Walleye is to estimate abundance of the spawning population utilizing the river.
