This logo was created by Perry McLeod-Shabogesic (Nipissing Nation & Crane Clan member) who also happens to be the Community Liaison Specialist for the A/OFRC.
The image itself depicts a "Spirit Fish" that is made up of the many fish species that exist in Anishinabek territorial waters. The colors (green, black, blue & yellow) chosen reflect the elements of water, land, air and fire that make up our environment and of course the universe. The Spirit fish emerges from the sacred waters moving in a clockwise direction through the air only to return back to the water from where it came. This motion symbolizes the completion of the circle of life that all creatures of our world cling to. The old pines standing motionless in the back are our ancestors (both men & women) who have passed on to the "Spirit World" but continue to watch our world through the eyes of the trees
